Restricted and Prohibited items shipping regulations from Indonesia.
Overview & Legal Compliance
This guide is compiled based on Indonesian Government Regulations (Law No. 1/2009 & Law No. 35/2009), IATA (International Air Transport Association), and ICAO standards. Accurate declaration of goods is a mandatory legal requirement.
Failure to disclose dangerous goods is a severe violation of international safety laws. Under Indonesian Law No. 1/2009 (Art. 435), non-compliance may result in criminal prosecution with penalties up to 15 years imprisonment or fines up to USD 500,000.
Restricted Items
The following items require special handling, UN-certified packaging, MSDS documentation, or have quantity limitations.
Deodorant sprays, hairsprays, insecticide sprays, portable oxygen, and lighters.
Risk: Explosion under extreme air pressure or temperature changes. Must have protective caps.
Perfumes, colognes, nail polish, essential oils, and alcohol-based cosmetics (>24% alcohol).
Risk: Low flashpoints pose fire risks. Must be leak-proof.
Laptops, smartphones, power banks, and drones.
Limit: 100Wh to 160Wh per device. Loose power banks are generally forbidden for air cargo. Damaged/bloated batteries are strictly prohibited.
Large audio speakers, microphones, or industrial magnets.
Requirement: Shielding required to prevent interference with aircraft navigation.
Frozen foods, vaccines, or medical samples.
Requirement: Specialized packaging (styrofoam/ice packs). Dry ice releases CO2 gas; net weight labeling is mandatory.
Prohibited Items
The following items are not permitted under any circumstances for warehouse entry or international shipping.
Fireworks, firecrackers, ammunition, flares, detonators, and replica grenades.
Phosphorus, matches, substances prone to spontaneous combustion, nitrates, and organic peroxides.
Wet cell batteries, mercury, acids, alkalis, strong industrial bleaches, and thinners.
Pesticides, rodenticides, arsenic, and biological samples (viruses/bacteria).
Narcotics, firearms, weapons, pornographic material, and alcohol (without special permits).
Strong-smelling items (e.g., Durian) or unpreserved animal products.
Warehouse Policy
- Full Disclosure : Shippers must provide accurate descriptions and MSDS for all chemical substances.
- Right to Inspect : The carrier reserves the right to perform physical inspections or X-Ray scanning.
- Indemnification : Shippers are liable for all costs, fines, or damages caused by undeclared hazardous materials.
- Disposal Policy : We reserve the right to refuse, return, or destroy hazardous items without refund to ensure staff and operational safety.
